Overview: A freak show sets up outside a small town in Florida, only to fall under the scrutiny of the town when a murderous clown goes on a rampage. In the midst of the carnage and carnie-age, the town and the performers must learn to live in harmony to solve the murders, and maybe commit a few of their own.
Best element: The cast is the best part of this season, no doubt. The new additions and the actors brought in to define the cast in the “freak show”. The varied performances and characters added. Such depth to this season.
Short falls: So… I’ll be honest, this series lost points for the clowns, and the particular fact that the clown just couldn’t be…whole. Clowns are one of my big horror nopes. As in I see one and I say “Nope” and leave. So it was hard to endure. The show itself spent so much time grandstanding with musical performances that they could have put out an album. It got a bit redundant. There was also some problematic dialogue about the “freaks”.
Recommendations/ Similar works: I have heard the It remakes are pretty good if you are into clowns. Otherwise, y’all will have to fill me in on works you would recommend for this season, it has stumped me.
